Hey!
So did I mention I'm a college student? Well, I am. I'm also in the Marching Band and currently applying to law school so classes and football have taken over my life and I just haven't had the free time I thought I would have to write. But I do now and I really am going to try to keep y'all updated on the goings on in the sports world.
Ladies, you've probably noticed that the men in your lives have started spending even more time in front of the TV. Right now is a big time in sports so I am just going to hit the highlights of whats going on. I'll get into the details in future posts.
First up: College Football!
I feel that I should start off by letting you know I live in the south. Down here college football is not a sport. Its really more like religion. Every Saturday, and the occasional Thursday, no matter where you choose to "worship", the scene will be pretty much the same. Marching Bands playing, Cheerleaders cheering, Frat boys in their suits and ties, Sorority girls in their dresses and pearls, and grown, normally mature men, suddenly turn into fanatical maniacs. Sometimes they even trade in their work day suits for full body paint and a beer. College football started back in August and week 7 just finished. The various conferences are already looking ahead to the Conference Championships and the really optimistic fans are looking forward to Bowl Game season. But more on College Football soon...
Pro Football
The NFL (National Football League) has also kicked off its regular season. Games are played all day Sunday and on Monday nights. The start of the NFL season has everyone who loves it looking forward to the Super Bowl, keeping track of their favorite college players who went pro, cheering for their favorite teams and even playing Fantasy football. If the men in your life (or women) are playing fantasy football I promise they will be spending lots of time updating their teams and watching what specific players do each weekend. You might even find them rooting for teams they hate in hopes that one player will make a big play and help their fantasy team out, just this once. Trust me, today my Dad cheered for the Cowboys for about two minutes in hopes that someone on his fantasy team would get a touchdown. We are NY Giants fans. We NEVER cheer for the Cowboys.
Hockey Season
Ok Readers, I won't lie. I don't know too much about Hockey. I know the games are fun when you go to them. I personally think hockey is only okay on TV. I know its fun when fights break out on the ice. I may not be able to tell you evey rule or detail about the game but I do know that hockey fans are passionate. They stick by their teams even in tough years and they mock the opposing teams till no end. Hockey season just started and I will do some research and keep you updated and in the know about the season! I promise!
Last, but definitely not least: Baseball!
Welcome to the Playoffs. A detailed post about baseball and the upcoming World Series will follow soon, but for now, you need to know that round one of the play offs, the Division Series, is wrapping up. Some teams have clinched berths to the next round and others are still fighting to move on. All these games are leading up the World Series and I promise to give you a good explanation of what is going on soon. Suffice it to say things are starting to get very interesting in the world of baseball.
Well, until next time ~Which will be soon~ feel free to comment with any sports questions and I'll make sure I answer them.

The Start of a New Adventure
Hi Y'all!
Thanks so much for reading my first ever adventure into this world of blogging. I decided to start this blog after the encouragement of some good friends, who have put up with my sports obsession for the last few years. I am a 22 year old girl that has always loved sports. So many women don't understand sports or see them as that obnoxious waste of time the guys in their lives cant seem to stop talking about. I'm hoping this blog is going to provide an easy way for women to get into sports. I plan to include updates on major sports events, athletes, fun ways to get into the game, and pretty much any other sports related ideas I come up with! If anybody out there has a cool idea or anything to share please send it in!!
